Resumo
This article aims to present the reflections about the changes provided by the new National
Curriculum Guidelines (DCNs) implemented in 2013 in the Journalism undergraduation degree.
This study provides a brief history on higher education in Journalism undergraduation degree in
Brazil and a systematization of the minimum curricula and the curricular guidelines of the major
in journalism. The investigation is a qualitative research, of empirical nature, and was conducted
through interviews with representatives of three higher education institutions, which offer in
Journalism undergraduation degree in Goiânia (GO), and documentary analysis. The results
show that professors generally evaluate the new DCNs positively, but differ their opinions
regarding the compulsory internship and the accomplishment of the individual Final Term
Paper, aspects emphasized by them as controversial in the new DCNs for the major in
Journalism.
