Resumo
The high housing deficit in Brazil encouraged the creation of various housing programs,
however, social housing are propagated without due concern for the social, cultural and regional
differences of where they are built. Researches have shown that lack of quality in the built
environment affects the quality of life of its users. In recent years, Brazilian regulations came
into force to ensure adequate performance of the buildings and proposed minimum
requirements and criteria to be followed both in design phase and in the implementation phase
of construction. This research aims to propose to make a comparison of the thermal
performance of two different systems of construction employed in the undertaking of social
housing Residencial Real Conquista, in Goiânia - GO, managed by the Housing Agency of
Goiás. It is proposed a case study, to evaluate the project in design phase and in use by checking
their conformity with the Brazilian standards NBR 15220 (ABNT, 2005) and NBR 15575
(ABNT, 2008), through evaluations of architectural design , regarding the construction
parameters suggested; calculate the thermal properties of building systems employed; and
evaluation of user perception. It was conducted a literature review on the subject, seeking to
subsidize the instrumentation for data collection. The results will select the most appropriate
building technologies to the climate of the region studied, and verify that the performance levels
set by the rules are consistent with the users of the houses. Thus, it is expected to confront the
results obtained in data collection and propose constructive guidelines for improving the design
process for social housing, to the choice of materials and building systems more appropriate to
this geographic context.
