Um arquivo às avessas: desaprender Goiânia em companhia multiespécie

Abstract

This dissertation proposes a critical reflection on the images of the construction of Goiânia and their relation to colonial and imperial discourses that sustain practices of destruction, violence, and erasure — affecting both humans and more-than-humans. Recognizing architecture and urbanism as practices that have contributed to the consolidation of hegemonic discourses, this research seeks to break away from the view of architecture as something inevitable (AZOULAY, 2021) or merely associated with improvements (TAVARES, 2019). Instead, it begins with the desire to listen: to listen to the images, to the ants — and above all, to listen in companionship. Through artistic practices and fabulations developed in collaboration with the collective História Natural de Goyaz (HNG) and with leafcutter ants, it proposes a multispecies alliance, a process of unlearning the city and its archives, challenging hegemonic narratives and rehearsing other ways of making and imagining architecture.
