Resumo
This thesis investigates how former President Jair Bolsonaro discursively constructed distorted
ideological representations of human rights in his posts on Twitter (currently called 'X') during
his presidential term (2019–2022). The study analyzes these posts with the aim of identifying
discursive patterns and understanding how thematic representations of human rights were
articulated in his digital communication on the platform. The theoretical framework addresses
the phenomenon of post-truth, the historical evolution of human rights, and the rise of
Bolsonarism, with a particular focus on the discursive reconfiguration of human rights during
his administration. To investigate this phenomenon, two complementary methodologies were
employed: the KDD process (Knowledge Discovery in Databases), used to map recurring topics
and thematic patterns in the posts, and Content Analysis, which classified and interpreted
thematic representations related to human rights. The findings revealed the predominance of
themes such as public security, family, fake news, scientific denialism, and conservative values.
The analysis showed that Bolsonaro's digital communication mobilized selective narratives,
prioritizing certain groups while marginalizing others. These discourses reflected far-right
values and beliefs aligned with his political and strategic priorities, promoting a moralistic and
conservative rhetoric. Furthermore, this approach contributed to the dismantling of sectoral
public policies, exacerbated misinformation, and negatively influenced public perceptions of
human rights.
