Trajetórias do sonho à real conquista: formação sócio espacial e luta pela moradia em Goiânia

Abstract

The occupation of the Parque Oeste Industrial in February of 2004, in Goiânia, disclosed a social problem that occurs in the majority of the Brazilian metropolises. In search of `dream of the proper house' organized a fight for the right to the housing that can be considered the right to the proper city and the urban space. The objective of this study is to investigate the interests that had allowed the occurrence of this conflict that resulted in the biggest urban ousting operation of Goiás and that it very says them regarding the fight for the housing in Goiânia. In this work one searched to identify the correlations of involved forces in the occupation processes, construction of the "Sonho Real" and inoccupation of the area in the Parque Oeste Industrial. From the geographic and economic perspectives, beyond the order perceptions cultural and politics, it was aimed at to arrive, by means of analysis of this urban phenomenon, to a bigger understanding of the mechanisms of capitalist accumulation in the urban space that, by means of the monopoly of the urban land, promotes the partner-occupational segregation in the big cities. The real estate speculation, for example, was identified as one of the mechanisms that more maintenance of the empty spaces favors aiming at its future valuation in urbanized parts of the city, while the spaces destined to the popular housings is more distant of the center, each time. The urban market promoted the capture of the State and it is legislating in favor of the interests of the real estate capital. In Goiás, as resulted of the proper line of adopted urban planning, of populist the public politics of habitation of the past and due to action of the State to the interests of the real estate market, we today have a territory extremely broken up and segregated. And, during the process of space formation of Goiânia, not fairway from the reality of the state, increased quantitatively and qualitatively the results and consequences of the urban segregation. Therefore, for one more good reflection on the urban space formation and fights for the housing was opted to the accomplishment of a case study of the segregation reality and the deficit of homes in Goiânia and on this way, worked with the study of the phenomenon of occupation in the Parque Oeste Industrial that was the most recently and elucidative episode capable to modify the goianiense urban space, because it means a lot of the popular pressure force.
