Entre retratos e visitas: reflexões com famílias ciganas em Tupaciguara-MG

Abstract

This study aims to understand the modes of production persons, families, and kinship relations among Romanies from Minas Gerais. The research was conducted between 2015 and 2019, through ethnographic engagement with two family networks in the municipality of Tupaciguara-MG, with an emphasis on everyday practices such as visits, requests, and the circulation of photographs. The analysis focuses on how notions of belonging and relatedness are constructed, reaffirmed, or undone in daily interactions, revealing kinship as processual, performative, and situated phenomenon.
