dc.description.abstractThis thesis seeks to contribute to the reflection on changes in historiography. Having the distance between Jewish memory and historiography pointed out by Yerushalmi as starting point, it is intended to deal with what has changed in the relationship between memory and history after the Shoah. The introduction of testimonial literature as a necessary source for the process of working-through a traumatic event is the central point of the argument. The testimony, imbued with the traumatic memory, is what impels revisiting the discussions that have never ceased to accompany the writing of history – such as the problem of truth and the place of fiction and literature –, but through new conceptualizations and different possibilities of representation. Through a reflection on Jewish historiography and memory (the latter illustrated by Zakhor), as well as on Jewish identity in different contexts, it becomes possible to give thought to the presence of memory and forgetfulness in a historiography that goes beyond this identity, that is, it points for consequences in post-war historiography in general. Thus, it is stated that the Shoah, as a paradigmatic event, awakens the demand for a reinvention of historiography through the irruption of testimony in the historiographical realm (but not only), which also justifies the mobilization of psychoanalysis in order to grasp the questions imposed by traumatic memory on historiography.eng

dc.description.resumoEsta tese busca contribuir para a reflexão acerca de mudanças na historiografia. Parte-se do pressuposto do distanciamento entre a memória judaica e a historiografia apontado por Yerushalmi para tratar daquilo que se transforma na relação entre memória e história após a Shoah. A introdução da literatura de testemunho como fonte necessária para o processo de elaboração de um evento traumático está no ponto central do argumento. O testemunho, imbuído da memória traumática, é o que impele a revisitação de discussões que nunca deixaram de acompanhar a escrita da história – como o problema da verdade e o lugar da ficção e da literatura –, mas abarca novas conceituações e diferentes possibilidades de representação. Através de reflexões acerca da historiografia e memória judaicas (esta ilustrada por Zakhor), bem como a identidade judaica em diferentes contextos, torna-se possível pensar a presença da memória e do esquecimento em uma historiografia que vai além dessa identidade, ou seja, aponta para consequências na historiografia pós-guerra de um modo geral. Assim, afirma-se que a Shoah, como evento paradigmático, desperta a exigência de uma reinvenção da historiografia pela via da irrupção do testemunho no espaço historiográfico (mas não só), o que justifica, também, a mobilização da literatura e da psicanálise para perceber as questões impostas pela memória traumática à historiografia.pt_BR
