Arquitetura e sustentabilidade no Cerrado: uma análise crítica de sistemas construtivos para a Zona Bioclimática 4B

Abstract

The planet is currently experiencing an environmental emergency caused by human activity, in its various forms, throughout history. The acceleration of extraction and use of natural resources without due consideration of the environmental impacts is characteristic of the way nature is organized within the hegemonic economic model of society. This increasing degradation has resulted in the destabilization of natural processes and is causing problems such as biodiversity loss, increased global average temperature, rising sea levels, intensification of extreme weather events, melting ice in polar regions, altered rainfall patterns, and desertification. The construction sector stands out in this scenario due to its extensive production chain with high demand for natural raw materials and the large volumes of polluting waste it generates. Given this context, it is essential to seek solutions that contribute to reducing the negative impacts of the built environment on the natural environment. Therefore, this research aims to analyze how environmental suitability criteria influence the selection of construction systems for Bioclimatic Zone 4B in the Cerrado biome.
