Resumo
Based on research, social analyses, and the identification of the need to support adolescents facing anxiety disorders in Brazil, this work proposes the creation of an original illustrated book that portrays the journey of a character dealing with anxiety. In general, it aims to document the entire creation process of the book, which addresses anxiety in a way that communicates with a teenage audience, promoting personal identification with the reader and serving as an aid in coping with this disorder. The proposal also highlights the role of the graphic designer as a social agent, involved in all stages of the project, from conception to materialization, demonstrating how design can contribute to social transformation. To accomplish this proposal, an integrated methodology was adopted, based on Bruce Archer’s Systematic Method for Designers, combined with Rocha’s (2023) Character Creation Methodology and Doc Comparato’s (2009) Screenwriting Method, in order to encompass the full scope of the project.
