Item Eficiência de fungicidas no controle de mancha parda (Bipolaris oryzae) em arroz (Oryza sativa)(Antônio Henrique Garcia, 2000-12) Ottoni, Giselle Ferreira; Oliveira, Wilson Ferreira de; Silva, Alesandra L.; Albernaz, Karina Cordeiro; Silva, Érica Gomes da; Cardoso, Edar; Guicherit, EricIn situations where the blight (Pyricularia grisea) is not limiting the rice crop, the brown spot (Bipolaris oryzae) control can be extremely efficient with field sprayings. This experiment was conduced in Indiara (GO) aiming to compare the efficiency of different fungicides in one or two dosages in the control of brown spot under low blight conditions. All treatments showed efficiency in the control of brown spot, with no signifficant difference among them.Item Primeiro registro de ocorrência de Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) no Brasil(Alexsander Seleguini, 2013-03-30) Czepak, Cecília; Albernaz, Karina Cordeiro; Vivan, Lúcia Madalena; Guimarães, Humberto Oliveira; Carvalhais, TiagoIn this study is reported the first occurrence, in Brazil, of Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), which was considered up till now a quarantine pest. The notification occurred in the Goiás State, in soybean; Bahia State, in volunteer soybean; and Mato Grosso State, in cotton.Item Resfriamento artificial na conservação da qualidade comercial de grãos de milho armazenados(2013) Quirino, José Ronaldo; Melo, Aniela Pilar Campos de; Veloso, Valquíria da Rocha Santos; Albernaz, Karina Cordeiro; Pereira, Jaqueline MagalhãesArtificial cooling is a tool used in the conservation of grain quality in tropical regions. In this study, we aimed to verify the effect of artificial cooling through aeration in preserving the quality of corn grains in bottom horizontal “V” warehouses. Two septa were used in the experiment: an artificially cooled (12°C) septum with capacity of 28 thousand tons and a naturally aerated septum with capacity of 29 thousand tons. Sampling was carried out in both septa during loading, at 60 and 120 days after the first stage of cooling, and during expedition. During storage, sampling was performed considering the position and depth of the corn mass. A qualitative assessment was conducted to determine the following parameters: weight of thousand grains, grain mass temperature, oil content and acidity, identification of fungi, aflatoxin content, insect infestation rate, and percentage of infested grain. Artificial cooling temperature promoted a decrease in grain mass, regardless of the external conditions of air temperature and humidity. Artificial aeration, with cold air, preserved the parameters assigned to grain quality and provided reduced percentage of infested grain and reduced population of insect pests in the product mass. Therefore, the use of artificial cooling in the storage of maize grains in tropical regions is effective in maintaining grain quality and managing insects and pathogens.Item Seletividade de inseticidas ao complexo de inimigos naturais na cultura do algodão (Gossypium hirsutum L.)(João Batista Duarte, 2005-08) Czepak, Cecilia; Fernandes, Paulo Marçal; Albernaz, Karina Cordeiro; Rodrigues, Ohana Daroszewski; Silva, Lucimar Martins; Silva, Edgar Alves da; Takatsuka, Fábio Shigeo; Borges, Jácomo DivinoThe selectivity of insecticides was evaluated in the complex of natural enemies of the cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) crop. The cultivar Deltapine was used in a randomized block experimental design, with seven treatments and four replications. The treatments, all in their commercial formulation, were: control; thiamethoxam (300 g.ha-1); lufenuron (300 mL.ha-1); betacyflutrin (800 mL.ha-1); imidacloprid (70g.ha-1); diflubenzuron (6,0 g.ha-1); and endosulfan (1500 mL.ha-1). The insecticides were sprayed at 45 days after germination. Besides the initial evaluation, other evaluations were performed three and seven days after insecticide application. Each plot was sampled by the fabric beating method, with two random beatings per plot. Natural enemies were identified and counted. Three days after application, the insecticides thiamethoxam (300 g.ha-1), lufenuron (300 mL.ha-1), and diflubenzuron (60 g.ha-1) did not showed negative effect on the complex of predators present in the cotton. However, seven days after application, only the lufenuron treatment maintained the selective effect over predator complex.
