Resumo
This work presents a study on the reading of the world and its influence on the reading of
Fake News. To do so, we will focus on Paulo Freire's discussions regarding Communication
Theory, as well as seek to analyze two Fake News produced in 2018, at the time of the
presidential elections. We aim to study the theoretical-methodological formulations of Paulo
Freire in the theoretical elaboration of Pedagogy of Communication. We track and analyze
Freire's contribution to the construction of the theoretical-critical apparatus from which they
manage to find a concept for the elaboration and confrontation of Fake News. The path that
we built in this research started from the analysis of Paulo Freire's works, especially the
Pedagogy of the Oppressed; Extension or Communication. Based on the selected works, we
carried out a bibliographic research, with analysis of the sources. As a methodological
approach, bibliographic research was the initial step for the survey of reference works in
communication pedagogy and then we treated the selected fake news as an analysis
documentary.
