Item Vidas em espera : uma etnografia sobre a experiência do tempo no processo transexualizador(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-04-06) Almeida, Anderson Santos; Braz, Camilo Albuquerque de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4883038594618199; Braz, Camilo Albuquerque de; Souza, Erica Renata de; Henning, Carlos EduardoThis research aims to anthropologically interpret the meanings about time and waiting among transsexual women who participate or wish to participate in the Processo Transexualizador within the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). I carried out fieldwork in various situations, lived with and interviewed some women participants in the Projeto Transexualidade, at Hospital das Clínicas from UFG, who shared their experiences with me. The semi-structured interviews, along with participant observation, helped me to produce the ethnographic elements that will be shared in this dissertation. Thus, among the elements that configure this research, the narratives about the (re)construction of the interviewees' body, during the so-called gender transition, stand out with a focus on time and temporality. The waiting within the public health area is constant, even more so when it comes to the quest for a better living condition and realization of dreams for trans women. This waiting can be an element that directly influences their lives, as it is a condition that is always present in each moment of life in the course of the transexualization process. Thus, at the end of this anthropological experience, it is evident to me that waiting is a factor that in many instances regulates the experiences of these women, and it is difficult to separate it from the meanings shared around the gender transition experience.Item Manda quem pode, obedece quem (não) tem juízo - corpo, adoecimento mental e intersubjetividade na polícia militar goiana(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2012-09-25) Almeida, Cláudia Vicentini Rodrigues de; Silva, Telma Camargo da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5600367671251186; Silva, Telma Camargo da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5600367671251186; Braz, Camilo Albuquerque de; Víctora, Ceres GomesThis thesis studies the relationship between mental illness and military police through the analysis of oral narratives. The theoretical bases for this study are the theoreticalmethodological formulations in the field of medical anthropology as studied by Good (1994), Kleinman (1980; 1988; 1995) and others, such as Das et al (1997), Csordas (1994; 1999; 2008), and also Bourdieu (1980) who tried to articulate the individual and socio-cultural dimensions when privileging such notions as experience, social suffering, inter-subjectivity, agency and body. The empirical narrowing of the research privileged corporal and police officers from the Military Police of the State of Goiás (PMGO), males only and in active duty, under psychiatric care by the military institution. The field observations and semi-structured opened interviews took place at the Military Police Hospital of PMGO (HPM), where forensic psychiatric appointments take place as well as psychological care for those who work for the PMGO. Above all this research tries to answer two mutually implied questions: how a military order appears in the meaning attributed by military policemen to their experience of mental illness since their trained bodies signify identity and masculinity; and, on the other hand, what do the meaning attributed to their experience of illness have to say about individuals inscribed in the military order and about the social relationships dramatized in it.Item Personagens emolduradas: os discursos de gênero e sexualidade no Big Brother Brasil 10(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2011-09-16) ALMEIDA, Katianne de Sousa; RATTS, Alecsandro José Prudêncio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0348844638764982Open your eyes and see. There is nothing more incredible than the act of visualizing the innumerous possibilities that are before our eyes: images, they are more than a combination of colors and forms, they produce meanings and, logically, symbols. From this production of images some questions can be raised, such as, what do they want to represent? This dissertation focuses the images transmitted on the television program Big Brother Brazil (BBB) in its tenth edition, which took place in 2010. When I started the research, the question that I, a television spectator and anthropologist, raised were: how are the discourses of femininity, masculinity and homosexuality reproduced? Above all, how the central model was reproduced hegemonic references? These references seem to subordinate, devalue and limit the plural existences of masculinity, femininity and homosexuality. Finally, I perceived that the fieldwork data did not only show the assumptions of normativity and the subjects were not completely framed, there were dislocations. Knowing that nothing is simple in the field of gender and sexuality, there were several tensions. The diversity proposed by the program had its limits. In proposing to denaturalize the BBB, I aimed to understand how an audiovisual product watched by the most varied social groups can influence, sediment or make one reflect on the formal conventions about gender and sexuality.Item Representações do comer ideal e do comer saudável em pacientes obesos com indicação de cirurgia bariátrica em Goiânia/Goiás(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2016-09-30) Alves, Larissa de Farias; Collaço, Janine Helfst Leicht; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9655194212314066; Collaço, Janine Helfst Leicht; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9655194212314066; Silva, Denise Oliveira e; Silva, Joana Aparecida Fernandes daAs a multidimensional character, eating is inserted into an interstitial space, a system of values specific to each culture, whose complexity and incomprehensibility begin to be understood within the limits of disciplines. Thus, this research uses the perspectives of consumption anthropology, health and disease anthropology and food anthropology to analyze speeches of people assisted in public health services and compare them with current biomedical hegemonic discourses about eating. The methodological strategy was the observational qualitative ethnographic study (participatory) and, as a tool, semi-structured and open interviews were carried out at Clinical Hospital (Goiânia, Goiás) and Family Health Units (Trindade, Goiás). Fundamentally, the research aims to analyze the categories, influence factors, values and meanings involved in the representation of the ideal and/or healthy eating of people who are in a dietary change process under the guidance of nutritionists and who went through some disease process and currently have a biomedical diagnosis of obesity. Item Com o peito cheio de pó: uma etnografia sobre a negação do adoecimento de trabalhadores do amianto na cidade de Minaçu (GO)(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2019-05-17) Amaral, Arthur Pires; Pechincha, Mônica Thereza Soares; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7816009438312510; Pechincha, Mônica Thereza Soares; Víctora, Ceres Gomes; Collaço, Janine Helfst Leicht; Vieira, Suzane de Alencar; Nunes, Jordão HortaThis doctoral thesis starts from the problematization of the risks involved in working with asbestos, in an international perspective, casting the comparison with the empirical case of Minaçu, a Brazilian city that was founded and consolidated due to the asbestos mining industry – represented here by S.A. Minerações Associadas (SAMA). The ethnography held in this city evidenced and built herself under the avoidance and embarrassment of the locals to a dialogue about asbestos-related illness of SAMA employees and former employees. This situation reflects the collusion between Science, Industry and State, as instances of power responsible for raising doubts about the dangers of toxic substances that, at Minaçu, become entangled in the mining company’s strategies of: (i) concealment of the risks involved in working with asbestos, and (ii) manipulation of the former employees’ medical reports. By means of the anthropological concept of social suffering, the ethnography brings to light narratives and experiences of illness and death of asbestos workers at Minaçu, in their (ineffective) searches by diagnosis, treatment and medical-legal recognition. Finally, it demonstrates how the illness process of SAMA workers, whose asbestos-related diseases were never recognized by the mining company, are subsumed and assimilated to the “normal”, “ordinary” routine of the everyday life in that city. This situation produces a deep sense of loneliness among the sick and their relatives that, added to socioeconomic and institutional power relations, prevent the local ethical, political and civil engagement that would lead to its effective public complaint.Item Em meio ao lixo, a riscos e estigmas: Construindo um lugar chamado Parque Santa Cruz(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2012-03-28) AMARAL, Arthur Pires; SILVA, Telma Camargo da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5600367671251186Item Religião e sofrimento: ressonâncias patrimoniais no discurso religioso em Ouro Preto (MG)(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2013-09-17) Amorim, Alexandre de Paula; Lima Filho, Manuel Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9114125597206149; Lima Filho, Manuel Ferreira; Laraia, Roque de Barros; Sofiati, Flávio Munhoz; Silva, Joana Aparecida Fernandes daThis dissertation is the result of an ethnographic experience in the city of Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais. The text presented constitutes an intellectual effort that aims to understand and describe ethnographically suffering as a hermeneutic construction, which is caught in the discourse of religious Ouro Preto, as a phenomenon historically inherited and its interface with the historic and cultural heritage of city. Based on the discourse of religious evangelicals and Catholics, the focus of this dissertation is to analyze the relationship that the interviewees establish the historical and cultural heritage, in particular, the historical narratives about the suffering of slaves and how these narratives influence their representations of suffering.Item Os huumari, o obi e o hyri: a circulação dos entes no cosmo Karajá(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2016-04-15) Andrade, Rafael Santana Gonçalves de; Lima Filho, Manuel Ferreira; http://buscatextual.cnpq.br/buscatextual/busca.do; Lima Filho, Manuel Ferreira; Pechincha, Mônica Thereza Soares; Oliveira, João Pacheco de; Herbetta, Alexandre FerrazThis work started from the analysis of the Karajá collection of the American anthropologist William Lipkind, kept in the Museu Nacional collection (UFRJ – Brazil). The analysis was focused on the shaman‟s things, as the obi, the hitxiwa and the rata(k)ana, which were presented through photographic cards to some Karajá interlocutors in the village of Santa Isabel do Morro (TO). From a brief ethnographic experience, it was possible to reach the ideas presented here. These shaman's things pointed to the specificity of the movement of “being” in the Karajá cosmos, configuring the nonindigenous “world” as one of the possible places in this cosmos where these things circulate. In the system of meanings shared by the karajá, the concept of object, lifeless and inert, is far from the subjectivity and life present in the relationships surrounding things. This Karajá approach leads us to rethink the status of collection items and the way they were and are collected, at the same time that they raise some questions about the need and the significance to store and expose such things in museums. Item Dos usos turísticos do patrimônio alimentar: formação cultural e os mercadores de comida típica na Cidade de Goiás(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2015-02-25) Barbosa, Filipe Augusto Couto; Collaço, Janine Helfst Leicht; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9655194212314066; Collaço, Janine Helfst Leicht; Abdala, Mônica Chaves; Tamaso, Izabela Maria; Silva, Joana Aparecida FernandesThis research is an investigation around the appropriations of food heritage for cultural tourism purposes at the locality best knew as City of Goias (that is the County of Goias/State of Goias/Federative Republic of Brazil). The focus of the work is to unravel the social relations involving entrepreneurs dedicated to the production and marketing of ‘typical food’ ‒ in particular, the owners, managers, cooks (or Chefs) and confectioners, of restaurants, cafes and pastry shops ‒ and the forces that act on cultural tourism, mainly, trying to understand the relations between food heritage and touristic commodities, and how it becomes emblematic (or not) of a hegemonic local cultural heritage. Therefore, we sought to stablish connections between emblematic products, representations of local cuisine and the socio-cultural changes that determined the food heritage uses, domestically and in consumption by cultural tourism relations. The method used in this investigation approaches to those identified with the ethnology, or those that have in common the interactive observation of native subjects life, resulting the research in a text based on experience; and were employed also survey techniques and the photographic record directed to a symbolic analysis of objects and products. From the experiences and thematic studies with the field we conjectured about diversity andconstancy of cultural flows that historically crosses the cuisine of Goias, demonstrating their particular importance, and noting the ‘power’ element in the subalternization of certain heritages, which characterizes the internal dispute in the construction of a harmonious hybrid image (in favor of the merchandising in tourism relations). In this context, may be also appreciated that most of the producers and merchants of 'typical food' in the City of Goias are heirs and promoter of these subaltern traits and that, in one hand, having been employed in houses, farms and stores of the hegemonic culture families, they have incorporated and hybridized certain elements, reproducing strategically some of these according to the market demand, and that, on the other hand, introducing products based on the food heritage that they identify to themselves, strengthening the subaltern cultural matrices in the historical background of this locality. Item A prática crossdresser na blogosfera: um estudo baseado em análise de blogs crossdressers(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2014-08-25) Barbosa, Marcela Thaís de Melo; Souza, Maria Luiza Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2356260805513956; Souza, Maria Luiza Rodrigues; Vencato, Anna Paula; Braz, Camilo Albuquerque deThis research consists of an analysis of blogs perceived as crossdressers’. In other words, blogs that use the word crossdresser in their headline and/or in their content description. These blogs, that are mainly used as virtual diaries, are propagators of opinion, virtual contents that go beyond text, the usage of words. They propagate ideas also by images, pictures, videos and audio. It was pursued the understanding of what the crossdressing practice is to these bloggers through the analysis of pictoric and textual elements, also observing which categories would come up through their speech and dress-up. For this research , the blogs to be analyzed were chosen by means of common internet research tools, focusing on the first results presented. It were intended, through the reading and analysis of these blogs, written by crossdressers, or by authors that use that category as the blog’s justification, to approach behaviors that evidence what people so-called crossdressers do when they evoke this category. In other words, what people do when they announce to be involved with the practice. It was concluded by means of this analysis that there is a heterogeneity in the understanding of the practice that involves differences when dressing up, and also, differences in the way of perceiving and experience the practice.Item Olhares do desejo e olhares femininos: o cinema pornográfico feminista de Candida Royalle, suas subversões e limitações representacionais(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-06-06) Batista, Aryani Ferreira; Henning, Carlos Eduardo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1405422535034318; Henning, Carlos Eduardo; Souza, Maria Luiza Rodrigues de; Ferreira, Glauco BatistaPornography has long been considered one of the most controversial cultural works. Having the power to trigger in people various sensations such as disgust, pleasure, curiosity, fear and misunderstanding. It has mobilized several academic studies in various areas, despite its marginality, as well as media, religious and feminist debates, generating around it the well-known sex wars. And from the complex relationship between feminisms and pornography has emerged the controversy over pornography produced by women as a cultural product designed for other women. Women have in recent decades been producing representations about female sexuality in pornographic cinema and challenging the prevailing "male gaze" in this industry. The question of self-representation, therefore, gains centrality in different ways in these works. Faced with this phenomenon, I investigate Candida Royalle's film production of pornography - one of the pioneers of this field - through four of her works distributed between the early 1980s and the first decade of the new century. In addition, I contextualize the biographical path of this director and her production within feminist debates since the 1970s. In the meantime, I seek to examine the forms of subversion of the “male gaze” and the effort of this director and producer to construct a “feminine look” in your work. In addition, I seek to elucidate its relevance to feminist film pornography and by analyzing some of its works to question its contribution to this field and also its advances, subversions and representational limitations in the context that has been termed as feminist pornography.Item “Nós comemos e regurgitamos”: feminismos transnacionais e coalizões potenciais a partir da marcha das vadias de Goiânia/GO(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2017-09-18) Batista, Paula Nogueira Pires; Henning , Carlos Eduardo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1405422535034318; Henning, Carlos Eduardo; Facchini, Regina; Dias, Luciene de OliveiraThis work aims to think about the potentialities of transnational feminist political coalitions based on ethnographic experience that focused on Slutwalk of the city of Goiânia / GO ("Marcha das Vadias" - MdV / GO) in the years 2014, 2015 and 2016. For this, I interpret that this March would be a contemporary "young" feminist expression. The analysis proposes intersectionality, taking into account the different social markers of difference that have emerged in the field, such as gender, "race" / color, class, sexuality and age / "generation". Thus, three major axes of analysis are thought: 1) Transnational flows of feminisms; 2) Intersectionality and ethnic-racial issues; 3) Generational differences and different feminisms in play. As an analytical possibility, I propose the idea of intersectional feminist whiteness, thought from the racialization of white social experience on the March.Item Cartografia etnográfica de memórias desobedientes(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-11-27) Boita, Tony Willian; Wichers, Camila Azevedo de Moraes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1268440854810735; Wichers, Camila Azevedo de Moraes; Hirano, Luis Felipe Kojima; Bruno, Maria Cristina de OliveiraThe present work seeks to reflect on the memories of disobedient sexualities in exile. To do this, it searches from a cartography, map memory indicators and museums that address memories of non- normative sexualities. It is intended to reflect on traumatic memories and their influence on exiled memories. Finally, the aim is to present the actions developed in the Favela Museum, with the LGBT Memory Project in MUF, developed in 2015 from the intersectional cuts of gender, race and class. Together, we seek to debate the space of the memories of the Brazilian LGBT community and non-normative sexualities around the world.Item “O véu do congá do pai Joaquim”: cosmovisão, ritual e experiência ou sobre três aspectos do conhecimento umbandista(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2017-02-09) Brito, Lucas Gonçalves; Hirano, Luis Felipe Kojima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1424410374681201; Hirano, Luis Felipe Kojima; Lima Filho , Manuel Ferreira; Carvalho, José Jorge deThis Thesis of Master aims to contribute to the construction of analytical devices which allow the comprehension of the umbandista movement from an ethnographic and anthropological perspective, considering lived experience as preponderant factor in the theory’s horizon. The assumption is the theoretical openness to the native’s point of view (GEERTZ, 1997) and the attention to native concepts (STRATHERN, 2014), thereby configuring an epistemological humbleness, based on the ethnographic encounter in which researcher and researched share an intersubjective experience in and of the time – the exercise of coevalness, defined by Fabian (2013). Through fieldwork, interviews and conversation between august 2015 to august 2016 we could see that, for “filhos de Oxalá da Casa de Pai Joaquim”, Umbanda is Unified Knowledge whose origins date back to Lemuria and Atlantida. This text methodologically combines three aspects of umbandista knowlegde as it stands in “umbanda de Pai Joaquim”, namely, worldview, ritual and experience. We conclude that the native concept of Aumbandan has theoretical implications to the study of Umbanda, especially the serious need to take it as an epistemology.Item Gênero e diversidade: as reitoras da ufg(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2011-06-09) CALDAS, Terezinha Maria Leite; ALVAREZ, Gabriel Omar; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1246783304706348This study aims to assess the trajectory of the two women who occupied the Presidency of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) since its founding fifty years ago; focusing on the impediments and/or facilitating factors of the female ascension to the highest University position. Maria do Rosário Cassimiro was the UFG President from 1982 to 1985, and Milca Severino Pereira held the position between 1998 and 2005. This thesis discusses the impediments and facilitating elements of the female career advancement, the gender discrimination at the public arena, the relevancy of people s subjective choices, the legitimacy of male supremacy and served to guide the interpretation of the researched empiric data. The data was acquired through semistructured interviews. And the thesis was written as narrative interview form. The field research pointed to an overvalue of women s paid work, which was recognized by both, being of the highest importance. Therefore, other aspects of their life such as social, emotional and family relations were lived as secondary priority as they made choices renouncing all that could be an obstacle to their professional advancement.Item Do João Leite para agrovila: deslocamento compulsório das famílias atingidas por um grande projeto na região metropolitana de Goiânia - GO(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2013-08-26) Castro, Jordana Fernandes de; Lima, Roberto; Lima, Roberto; Scott, Russel Parry; Rodrigues, Cintya Maria CostaAnthropological studies pertaining to dams in Brazil, from the 1970s, their numbers have considerably increased concomitantly increasing the works of the Brazilian Electricity Sector, which has a prominent place in development strategies designed by the National State. The creation, from the 1940s, the regional development plans, where the regions are to be seen as areas of action and state control for national economic growth through an internal colonialism elects as instruments of this policy the Major Projects Investment (GPIs), projects that is based on the exploitation of natural and human resources in economic logic. The exploitation of these resources and the dismantling of the deployment region of GPI generate perverse effects on the populations affected, presenting itself as a consolidated research strand. In this sense, the research presented here was to object eight families relocated for an agricultural community, as a result of dam construction Ribeirão João Leite, Goiânia, Goiás, between the years 2002 and 2009. The objective of the study is to understand the process of moving to an unknown location and the process of social transformation resulting from this relocation. The data presented are the result of the method of participating observation and documentary research in the archives of the Sanitation Company of Goiás S / A - SANEAGO, responsible for the work and analyzed with the help of theoretical texts on the subject of large dams. Keywords: Dam Ribeirão João Leite. Displacement Compulsory. Grande Project Investment (GPI).
