This market currently faces problems such as high interest rates, tax burden, bureaucracy and high labor costs. In this context, the concepts of Production Engineering help to overcome this challenge. Concepts such as management of production systems that focus on developing solutions and improvements for the corporate environment when applied in conjunction with Civil Engineering are extremely beneficial to the sector. The planning, execution and control of operational flows and their processes within the construction industry ensure that the cost of productivity is achieved with the minimum of available resources. Although there are several studies that address the management of production systems, the literature shows a lack of applications aimed at the construction industry, in order to highlight the wastes when service packages are started or continued without the presence of the complete kit, that is, without the resources necessary for their execution. In view of these issues, this dissertation aims to develop an applied research, with the main theme being wastes due to improvisation or wastes due to making-do in the construction industry. Aiming to meet the requirements necessary for the final product, a requirement for approval in the Postgraduate Program in Production Engineering - PPGEP at UFG (PPGEP, FCT UFG, 2024), it is structured in the format of a collection of articles. The first article sought, through a systematic review of the literature, to support the theoretical framework of the research by establishing the line of reasoning that would make it possible to define which are the good management and planning practices applicable to civil construction and in which phases of planning these solutions are applied. The second article presents the method used in the collection and classification of data. As partial results of the research, it presented the analyses related to the correlations between the classifications of wastes due to making-do in the universe investigated. The third article presented a multi-criteria decision-making model and how it is applied in order to assist managers in decision-making when determining a management solution that best impacts the guarantee of the prerequisite of the planned activities, thus anticipating decisions to reduce the occurrence of wastes due to making-do by determining informal packages. The results showed that the good practices identified in the literature can be considered as facilitating activities of the process, being important to reduce the occurrence of improvisations. The proposed model proved to be a robust and effective approach for decision making, with the development of the model that combines the Fuzzydelphi and TOPSIS techniques standing out as a contribution of the study, using linguisticterms to evaluate the weights of the decision makers and the criteriaItem type: Item , Proposta de gestão de estoque no almoxarifado de uma instituição policial de perícia criminal(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2025-05-19) Silva, Fernanda Marcelino da; Galo, Nadya Regina; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9614796941473828; Rabelo, Diogo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2038840725490529; Rabelo, Diogo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2038840725490529; Galo, Nadya Regina; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9614796941473828; Oliveira, Rodrigo Victor de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2202886423129791; Yamanaka, Lie; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3002438710080415Inventory management is a critical function in both private companies and the public sector. Despite differences in goals and organizational structures, both require effective inventory control to ensure the availability of products and services. In the public sector, however, the priority lies in the continuous and efficient delivery of services to the population. In this context, this study aimed to analyze inventory management in the warehouse of a police forensic institution, with the objective of proposing a physical reorganization of the space to better meet institutional needs. The study is exploratory and descriptive, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, and applied in nature. The research demonstrated that the adoption of appropriate techniques, such as ABC Classification and a strategic physical layout, contributes to the efficiency of operational routines by improving material flow control and warehouse organization. The study proposed the implementation of a new physical space with an internal layout suited to the types of stored items. The application of the ABC Curve identified deficiencies in categorization, control, and storage, supporting the development of an action plan focused on prioritizing strategic supplies and optimizing space utilization. It is concluded that the application of proper inventory management techniques, combined with a well-structured research methodology, can positively impact the efficiency and quality of forensic services. Based on the analysis and supported by various authors, it was possible to develop guidelines for improvement, suggesting a new location, internal layout design, and an action plan to ensure greater efficiency and control in the institution's supply sectorItem type: Item , Perícia 4.0: desenvolvimento de tours virtuais como ferramenta integrada para inteligibilidade de exames de corpo de delito(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2025-05-22) Carvalho, Murilo Toscano de; Gonçalves, Pedro Henrique; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8006386021273686; Rabelo, Diogo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2038840725490529; Rabelo, Diogo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2038840725490529; Gonçalves, Pedro Henrique; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8006386021273686; Silva, Thiago Henrique Costa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0761167066175470; Belchior, Fernando Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5823317463324641The materialization of forensic evidence must keep pace with the advancement of available technologies, as well as with ongoing transformations in visual culture and contemporary content consumption habits. Although the traditional methodology of forensic reporting is structured and systematic, it allows for wide descriptive and technical freedom, which can result in extensive and complex documents filled with technical jargon. When such reports are addressed to legal professionals or laypersons — particularly in jury trials — they often face challenges related to comprehensibility and proper interpretation of analyzed traces and events. Within this context, the present study aims to investigate how the use of 360° photography and virtual tours can enhance the intelligibility of forensic reports, adding informational and didactic value to the presentation of forensic analyses. To this end, the study explores practical aspects of applying this technique, including the time required for field implementation, ease of use by forensic experts — who are not necessarily trained photographers — technological limitations, and potential impacts on the procedural workflow of forensic reporting. Specific objectives include: investigating three-dimensional documentation methods applicable to forensic practice; developing a standardized 360° image capture model; comparing capture time and image quality between devices; evaluating post-processing alternatives that comply with the digital chain of custody; and proposing a replicable Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for other forensic units. The selected technique — virtual tours constructed from 360° photographs captured in situ — proved to be economically feasible, practical, and compatible with forensic fieldwork routines, while offering an innovative documentation approach. The resulting product, dynamic and interactive, can be accessed via digital platforms — including support for augmented and mixed reality — and allows integration with 3D schematics, panoramic images, videos, PDF documents, and other multimedia elements. The proposed format has strong potential to coexist with traditional forensic reports, providing significant gains in intelligibility and communication with the final recipients of forensic evidence.Item type: Item , Proposição de implementação de sistema de gestão de qualidade em laboratórios de genética forense em Goiás e no Brasil(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2025-03-17) Bezerra, Laryssa Silva de Andrade; Souza Neto, Advaldo Carlos de; Poltronieri, Camila Fabrício; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4110289399690526; Poltronieri, Camila Fabrício; Moura Neto, Rodrigo Soares de; Trindade, Bruno Rodrigues; Medeiros, Marcelo Neves de; Souza Neto, Advaldo Carlos deEmbargadoItem type: Item , Avaliação da eficiência das unidades periciais da Polícia Técnico-Científica de Goiás: uma aplicação da análise envoltória de dados(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2025-02-03) Silva, Diego André Mota da; Roriz Junior, Marcos Paulino; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1356289387726731; Roriz Junior, Marcos Paulino; Yamanaka, Lie; Gomes, Sérgio Castro; Fuchigami, Hélio YochihiroThe growing demand for forensic investigations forces the Technical-Scientific Police of Goiás (PTC-GO) to constantly improve its work methods and its organizational structure. In this context, it is essential to use good techniques to assess the efficiency of forensic units in order to support decision-makers in structuring the public service provided by PTC-GO in order to meet public policies and the demands of the population. One good tool is Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), which aims to measure and compare the efficiency of decision-making units according to their specific characteristics. Although it is a widely used technique in several areas, there are not many studies in which it has been applied in forensic field. In this context, this study used the DEA technique to measure the efficiency of the forensic units of the Goiás Technical-Scientific Police. To this end, the number of requests received and the number of experts in each unit per 100,000 inhabitants were considered as input variables, as well as the number of reports produced per 100,000 inhabitants, the ratio of reports to requests and the average time to produce the forensic report. The data were collected from the criminalistics information system – ODIN and the results allowed the construction of an overview of the efficiency levels of the PTC-GO units. From the calculation of targets, it was possible to identify possible bottlenecks and formulate suggestions for the units to reach standard efficiency.Item type: Item , Análise de balística terminal em pele suína: experimentação com pistolas 9mm(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2025-03-10) Ruas, Thaís de Sousa; Miguel, Marina Pacheco; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3078760368293415; Troysi, Fernanda Christina Teotonio Dias; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0775840085703413; Troysi, Fernanda Christina Teotonio Dias; Silva, Thiago Henrique Costa; Silva, Amanda Albertin Xavier daFirearms are responsible for approximately 70% of intentional violent deaths in Brazil, making forensic ballistics essential for criminal investigations. Terminal ballistics, which studies the injuries produced and the associated residues, has shooting distance estimation as a key aspect. For this purpose, it is necessary to develop methodologies that relate the generated residues to shooting distances. Experimental simulation emerges as an alternative, with cardstock and pigskin as viable analytical supports. Studies on distance estimation for 9x19 mm pistols are scarce, as indicated by the bibliometric analysis conducted. This study compared the characteristics of perforations and residues generated by Beretta APX Full Size and Sig Sauer P320 pistols, using 124-grain ogival EOOG NTA (Non-Toxic Ammunition) projectiles. Tests were conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments, varying the distance between the shooter and the target from 0 to 150 cm, with triplicate experiments for each condition. Based on the experimental data, a mapping of injuries and scanning electron microscopy findings was developed. Images from the experiments were analyzed using the ImageJ software for automatic lesion area measurement. The results indicated that cardstock is more suitable for gunshot residue analysis, while pigskin is more effective for lesion observation and electron microscopy. Residues on the cardstock were more evident up to 30 cm, progressively decreasing until they were nearly absent at the farthest distance. The variation between manufacturers and environments was minimal, with distance being the primary influencing factor. In pigskin, residue patterns did not follow a uniform trend, possibly due to material variability. The Beretta pistol demonstrated greater consistency in lesion size and residue quantity across both supports and environments. Scanning electron microscopy did not identify typical firearm residues due to the use of NTA ammunition but revealed compounds related to gunpowder, metals, contaminants, and the primer. Since the analysis was not quantitative, it was not possible to correlate the observed geometry with specific chemical elements. These findings contribute to improving forensic methodologies for gunshot distance estimation and ballistic residue characterizationItem type: Item , Planejamento estratégico da polícia penal de Goiás: vantagens e limites das metodologias utilizadas na elaboração(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2024-12-27) Nascimento, Josimar Pires Nicolau do; Bevilacqua, Solon; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4706313748524604; Bevilacqua, Solon; Gamarra, Daniel Fernando Tello; Machado, Andrea KochhannThe strategic planning of public institutions has become vital to their success. In the context of the increasing adoption of emerging technologies from Industry 4.0, such as Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI), it becomes essential to understand how these innovations can be integrated into Competency-Based Management (GBC) practices and adaptive leadership to promote significant advancements in these sectors. In light of this scenario, this dissertation aims to analyze the impact of implementing GBC and the role of leadership in public institutions, with a focus on improving operational efficiency and professional development. To achieve the proposed objective, this research will employ a qualitative methodological approach, based on literature reviews, analyses of existing literature, and case studies. The study will consider the impact of leadership on driving GBC, the benefits of this approach for police organizations, examples of best practices, and case studies, as well as the competencies and skills of individuals involved in managing hospital supply chains and forensic police. The limitations of this study include the restricted availability of empirical data for a direct comparison between the analyzed sectors and the difficulty in generalizing results due to the contextual specificities of each institution studied. Additionally, cultural and organizational resistance to the adoption of new technologies and management methods may pose further challenges. The expected results indicate that the combination of emerging technologies with GBC practices can lead to significant improvements in operational efficiency and the professional development of public servants, creating an adaptable and innovative environment—crucial for the recognition and appreciation of forensic police professionals. One contributing factor to this delay is the check-in process, primarily stemming from baggage dimension verification. Incorrect dimensions not only impact luggage storage but also result in additional costs for the customer. In such cases, passengers may be required to pay extra fees and return to the check-in line for corrections. To address this issue, companies are investing in self-bag drop systems, where passengers take responsibility for measuring their baggage. However, challenges arise due to the varied shapes of luggage and the complexities of handling multiple checked items. This study reveals that certain devices, particularly those utilizing LASER technology, can automatically obtain baggage dimensions. Despite their effectiveness, these devices often come with a significant price, and may require adjustments to the environment for installation. Consequently, this research aims to explore the technical feasibility of employing low-cost devices to measure airport luggage dimensions. Among the low-cost techniques, the use of the Microsoft Kinect depth sensor stands out, capable of obtaining a point cloud of the object under analysis. Based on this sensor, an algorithm was developed to capture, assemble and analyse the point cloud generated, thus obtaining the size of the luggage. To validate the approach, a prototype was built that contains a mat and a structure to fix the sensor, allowing the configuration of speed and data capture parameters, such as sampling step and capture region. The conducted tests indicate that the Microsoft Kinect V2 depth sensor can accurately capture depth, width, and height data. These results indicate the potential of this low-cost alternative in streamlining airline boarding operations.Item type: Item , Desenvolvimento de um framework para o alcance da mentalidade de riscos como requisito da ABNT NBR ISO 9001:2015(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2024-01-24) Cabral, Gabriella Silva; Fonseca, Marcelo Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9285142449945121; Fonseca, Marcelo Nunes; Dantas, Maria José Pereira; Rabelo, Diogo de SouzaThe increasing pursuit of ISO 9001:2015 certification by organizations, through the implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS), reflects the aim of securing a competitive advantage in the market by maintaining high standards of quality in processes and projects. However, obtaining certification requires organizations to embrace risk-based thinking, which is linked to their cultural aspects. Risk-based thinking during project and operational execution should naturally and intrinsically be part of organizational routines. Nevertheless, there are challenges to this implementation, such as a lack of knowledge about risk management and the difficulty in making the routine of risk-based thinking tangible or evident for certification audits. Therefore, this study aims to present the development and application of a risk management framework to introduce risk-based thinking in organizations, following an agile and assertive approach. The action research method was implemented, following a flowchart that encompasses planning, data collection, analysis, implementation of actions, and evaluation of results. The framework was developed based on an understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in risk management and governance. It was applied in two real projects: "Project ABC" involving the importation and launch of a medical device, and "Project CQ Software", dedicated to the implementation of software within 90 business days. The implementation of the framework allowed the organization to optimize processes for identifying, analyzing, and responding to imminent risks. Because of these changes, it is essential to improve the efficiency of solid waste treatment processes, Thus, this work seeks to compare in laboratory tests the wear resistance of the cutting blades used in a solid waste crusher in the city of Aparecida de Goiânia, after application of different materials that can be used in the manufacture of the component, since the main problem presented was the loss in productivity in the treatment of waste due to wear of components of the crusher. After collecting a sample of cutting blade was identified through the study of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) with Secondary Electrons (SE) and Backscattered Electrons (ERE), and also with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) that the type of wear preponderant in the tribological pair is the abrasive. From this premise, the laboratory experiment chosen was the rubber wheel wear test, because it is the method that best fits the system wear mechanisms, the same validated according to ASTM G-65. For the rubber wheel wear test were performed using samples of SAE 1060 steel and SAE 410 stainless steel heat treated. The studies demonstrated that it is not feasible to change the material used in the manufacture of the component, since the wear rates of the SAE 410D stainless steel samples were 55% higher than that of the samples that reproduce the condition of the cutting blade. This analysis is not limited only to one field, and can be extended to other sectors, using tribology as a reference, seeking to contribute to the academic production of production engineering, improving solid waste treatment operations.Item type: Item , Proposta de relato integrado de valor para um curso de graduação em engenharia em uma universidade pública(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2023-12-12) Santos, Diorgenes dos; Sousa, George Wagner Leão e; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372987452901677; Severino, Maico Roris; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2546008836929749; Severino, Maico Roris; Soares, Júlio César Valandro; Zaro, Elise Soerger; Sousa, George Wagner Leão eThis research addresses the challenge that governance and management represent for public organizations, specifically an undergraduate course at a public university, and the need for tools that help in the task of analyzing, relating and interpreting information, minimizing risks and presenting important findings on how enterprises generate value for their stakeholders. The research proposes the structuring of an Integrated Value Report for an undergraduate course at a public university in the state of Goiás. It seeks to build the basis of the model, with a literature review on the CDIO Initiative, Management System with Agile SD as a control architecture approach and Integrated Reporting, seeking to determine the necessary requirements for the implementation of an Integrated Report and considering the possible definition of the Generic Architecture of Integrated Value Reporting for an undergraduate engineering course. The CDIO approach supports the understanding of the system's life cycle, considering interactions, innovation, improvement, user needs and technological constraints. Agile SD aids the understanding of causal relationships that influence past and future performance. Despite the growing importance of integrated reporting for governance and management, there is a lack of studies on integrated value reporting applied to undergraduate courses. This study seeks to fill this gap by proposing an integrated value reporting model for an undergraduate engineering course at a public university in the state of Goiás. This study will use a case study to verify and analyze the feasibility of implementing an Integrated Reporting model applied to an undergraduate course. The study will be carried out in an undergraduate engineering course at a public university in the state of Goiás. Overall, this study has presented solutions, tools and processes that can improve information management practices from an Integrated Value Reporting perspective, making a broad contribution to the maturing of governance and a specific contribution to the structuring of management processes from a systemic perspective, enabling greater precision on the points of investigation for decision-making and guiding the evolution of courses, which in turn can contribute to increasing their maturity.Item type: Item , Avaliação da satisfação do usuário de telefonia móvel da região Centro-Oeste por meio da modelagem de equações estruturais(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2023-10-24) Oliveira, Juliane de Sousa; Santos Neto, Agenor Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6615964725213306; Soares, Júlio Cesar Valandro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9557844115914458; Soares, Júlio Cesar Valandro; Santos Neto, Agenor Sousa; Almeida, Tiago dos Santos; Duarte, Márcio AntônioIn order to maintain competitiveness and profitability, telephone companies seek indices that assess customer satisfaction. Understanding the level of consumer satisfaction regarding the use of mobile phone services is essential, since this type of communication provides ease and is present in the majority of the population. This work aims to present the main factors that impact on mobile telephony user satisfaction in the Midwest Region. This research was developed with the aid of the questionnaire carried out by Anatel. The questions contained in the questionnaire were grouped into the following constructs: Perceived Quality, Expectations, Perceived Value and Global Satisfaction. Structural Equation Modeling was used to assess consumer satisfaction in the Federal District, State of Goiás, State of Mato Grosso and State of Mato Grosso do Sul. Each location got different results. For the Federal District, of the six hypotheses analyzed, two were rejected. For the State of Goiás, of the six hypotheses analyzed, two were also rejected. For the State of Mato Grosso of the six hypotheses tested, only one hypothesis was rejected. The State that obtained the highest number of rejections of the hypotheses was the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, of the six hypotheses analyzed, three were rejected. Of all the hypotheses analyzed, the customer expectation factor proved to be significant and positive in the perceived quality and value perceived by the consumer.Item type: Item , Aplicação de sistema fotovoltaico off-grid como backup de energia na zona rural - estudo de caso(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2023-08-21) Silva, Fernando Carvalho Assunção da; Fonseca, Marcelo Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9285142449945121; Belchior, Fernando Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5823317463324641; Belchior, Fernando Nunes; Santos, Ivan Nunes; Rabelo, Diogo de Souza; Fonseca, Marcelo NunesThrough electrical energy, it is possible to operate machinery, generate heat, and transmit information. This energy is generated, transmitted, and distributed until final consumption. However, interruptions in the power supply pose obstacles, especially for producers located in the rural areas of the state of Goiás, within the concession area of the distributor EQUATORIAL-GO. These producers face losses due to spoiled stored food and the death of animals in breeding facilities. With the rise of distributed generation, consumers have been enabled to produce their own energy, thus becoming prosumer. This study conducts a case analysis on a rural property located in the municipality of Cezarina-GO, aiming to investigate the optimal solution for maintaining a consistent energy supply through alternative generation sources. Different scenarios are explored: 1) Grid Electricity + Backup Generator; 2) Grid Electricity + Off-Grid Photovoltaic System; and 3) Grid Electricity + Off-Grid Photovoltaic System + Batteries. Based on the energy demand of the location, equipment is sized for each scenario, and a financial analysis is performed using indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Discounted Payback Period, and Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE). The analysis considers the main implementation and operational costs for each configuration under study. The results show that the scenario "Grid Electricity + Off-Grid Photovoltaic System + Batteries" exhibits the best feasibility among the analyzed solutions. Despite having an initial investment nine times higher than the more traditional "Grid Electricity + Backup Generator" scenario, it presents a higher negative NPV and a lower LCOE over a 30-year period. Lastly, through a sensitivity analysis, parameters related to the cost of diesel fuel (R$), electricity tariff (R$/kWh), battery bank cost (R$), and the number of power interruptions were modified. Similarly, the "Grid Electricity + Off-Grid Photovoltaic System + Batteries" scenario remained the most viable for the first three analyzed parameters, while the "Grid Electricity + Backup Generator" scenario became more viable only when the number of power interruptions was reduced.
