A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted based on secondary data from the National Program to Improve Access to and Quality of Primary Health Care. The study sample was composed of health professionals from 1,216 primary health care units. Results showed that 68.5% of the health units miss a screening room, thus considerably damaging prompt decision-making by professionals. The lack of medical offices in 2% of the sites hinders the primary health care services accessibility in Goiás. As regards opening hours and work shifts, 86% of the units are open five days a week in eighthour shifts, which does not favor accessibility for users. This study confirms the lack of accessibility to health services and the need for additional investments to strengthen primary health care.Item Acesso aos serviços de saúde nos municípios do entorno sul do Distrito Federal(Marcelo Medeiros, 2015-06-30) Tonhá, Ana Cléia Margarida; Souza Júnior, Paulo Roberto Borges de; Bezerra, Ana Lúcia Queiroz; Santos, Thays Angélica de Pinho; Rosso, Claci Fátima WeirichThe aim of this study was to analyze people's perception on the access to health services in the southern outskirts of the Integrated Region for the Development of the Federal District (RIDE/DF, as per its acronym in Portuguese). A descriptive, cross-sectional, epidemiological and population-based study with a household survey design was carried out in 2010 and 2011. A semi-structured questionnaire, previously validated, was applied. A total of 605 individuals who lived in the southern outskirts of the Federal District were interviewed, of which 311 (51.4%) were female, 215 (35.8%) had incomplete primary education, 163 (40.9%) sought health services in Primary Care Units and 166 (45.5%) sought health services in another municipality. Access to health services in the region is influenced by social and economic conditions and by the place of living. These findings allow managers to better study the setting, review care services provided and meet health needs of that population.Item Acidente com material biológico entre trabalhadores da área de expurgo em centros de material e esterilização(2004) Tipple, Anaclara Ferreira Veiga; Souza, Adenícia Custódia Silva; Almeida, André Nunes Gomes de; Sousa, Shellen Bueno de; Siqueira, Karina MachadoThe cleaning of odonto-medical-hospital articles made by handy methods increases the risk of accidents with biological material. This article has as purposes: to characterize accidents involving the exposure of expurgation’s workers to biological material; to identify the incidence of accident’s subnotifications and to describe the prevention’s steps chosen. After the approval of an Ethics Committee and the worker’s permission, the data were collected in an interview with 111 workers of Central Supply. These employers work in hospitals with a hundred or more beds, located in Goiânia-GO. The article showed that (33) 29,8% of the workers listened said that they had accidents. Among these accidents, (24) 72,7% were notified and nine woren’t. The majority of the workers, 92,8%, didn´t know the individual protection equipment recommended for the expurgation’s use. Most of the time, the accidents were caused by perforating and cutting objects, hurting upper members. The article concludes that the majority of the workers don’t adopt the prevention’s steps. This attitude exposes them to risk’s situations, which can get worse when the accidents aren’t notified.Item Acidente com material biológico no atendimento pré-hospitalar móvel: realidade para trabalhadores da saúde e não saúde(2013-06) Tipple, Anaclara Ferreira Veiga; Silva, Elisangelo Aparecido Costa; Teles, Sheila Araújo; Mendonça, Katiane Martins; SouzaII, Adenícia Custódia Silva e; Melo, Dulcelene SousaAnalytical transversal study that was conducted with the objectives of identifying the prevalence and characterizing the accidents with biological material among professionals in pre-hospital service (PHS) and comparing the risk behaviors adopted by healthcare and non-healthcare groups that can affect the occurrence and seriousness of such accidents. Data were obtained by questionnaire applied to all PHS workers in Goiânia-GO. The study revealed a high prevalence of accidents involving biological material which, although higher for the healthcare group, also affected the non-healthcare group. There were signifi cant (p < 0.05) risk behaviors for these accidents in both groups: not using gloves, masks or eye protectors; inappropriate disposal of sharps; inadequate dress; re-capping of needles; and a lack of immunization against hepatitis B. The results underscore the importance of both groups in adhering to preventive measures, and further point to the need to structure and implement vigilance and control system for this type of accident.Item Acidentes com material biológico em serviços de urgência e emergência(2014) Mendonça, Katiane Martins; Tipple, Anaclara Ferreira Veiga; Sousa, Adenícia Custódia Silva e; Pereira, Milca Severino; Rapparini, CristianeObjective: To analyse cases of biological material accident among nursing staff in emergency areas. Method: Exploratory research held May and July 2009, with approval by the Ethics Committee (Nº 065/08, 12/08 and 118/08). Two checklist were used for data collection. Results: Eight accidents occurred, and the most involved blood in the hands of healthcare workers and three involved vomiting. The non-use of protective equipment in all the cases shows an underestimation of these barriers by healthcare workers and by managers, since not all were available. No accident was reported. Conclusion: The work process in the emergency areas requires a different look, considering their specificities for planning and implementation of a safe culture against the biological risk.Item Acidentes com material biológico entre estudantes de odontologia no estado de Goiás e o papel das instituições de ensino(2012) Lima, Liwcy Keller de Oliveira Lopes; Tipple, Anaclara Ferreira Veiga; Barros, Dayane Xavier de; Ferreira, Priscilla S.; Paiva, Enilza Maria Mendonça de; Simões, Luciana Leite PineliThis is an epidemiological, retrospective and descriptive study which the objective was to evaluate the frequency and profile of accidents with biological material among dental students attending a reference hospital and to characterize the pre-and post-exposure behavior and monitoring program recommended for this group. Data collection was conducted from October 2010 to April 2011. Records of the accidents with biological material between dental students attended since the first record of an accident until December 2010. Of the 701 accidents between the dental team assisted, 141 (20.1%) occurred among students, and observed the first record in 2000. Most accidents occurred in Goiânia (134, 95.0%). A percutaneous exposure (133, 95.1%) was the most frequent and lumen needle the object more involved in these accidents (51, 38.1%). Adherence to hepatitis B vaccine and to the clinical-laboratory was considered low. Establishing protocols for occupational accidents, made by the educational institution, and that in addition to notification, prioritize the monitoring and progress of each case, could contribute to greater adherence to post-exposure behaviors among this population.Item Acidentes com material biológico ocorridos com profissionais de laboratórios de análises clínicas(2006) Prado, Marinésia Aparecida do; Canini, Silvia Rita Marin da Silva; Gir, Elucir; Melo, Lílian Lorena; Mata, Daniela H.; Santana, Raide M. T.; Souza, Lorena R.; Souza, Adenícia Custódia Silva eIntroduction: the risk of exposure to biological material in clinical analysis laboratories is high, due to the constant manipulation of organic fluids and blood. Objective: identify the frequency and main causes of occupational accidents with biological material among professionals that work in clinical analysis laboratories. Methods: this descriptive study was conducted in clinical analysis laboratories at two teaching hospitals in Goiânia/GO, Brazil. Results: considering 81 professionals interviewed, 9 (11,1%) had not been vaccinated against hepatitis B; 45 (55,5%) referred accident with biological material; being 36 (80%) exposed to percutaneous injuries and 9 (20%) to mouth and ocular mucosa splashes; 22 (48,9%) subjects did not notify any accidents, and one worker was infected by the hepatitis B virus after the accident. The main causes attributed to accident occurrence included inadequate or lack of personal protective equipment, work overload, self confidence and insufficient piercing and cutting material collectors. Conclusion: the high prevalence of accidents, allied to insufficient notification, can cause serious damage to professionals and institutions. This deserves urgent efforts to implement an accident prevention and health promotion program.Item Acidentes ocupacionais com material biológico: a percepção do profissional acidentado(2006-02) Damasceno, Ariadna Pires; Pereira, Milca Severino; Souza, Adenícia Custódia Silva e; Tipple, Anaclara Ferreira Veiga; Prado, Marinésia Aparecida doThis qualitative research aims at identifying the perception of health care workers of different categories from a specialized institution in emergency health service in the city of Goiânia regarding the context involving biohazard accidents. Firstly, 382 workers were given a questionnaire in order to identify those who had experienced an accident, 39 of which also took part in an interview addressing the general aspects of the accidents. Among the main accident causes to be highlighted are: unattention, non-adherence to preventive measures, patient´s severity and hurry. Among the experienced feelings the main ones are: inconfidence, fear of contamination, rage, and even calmness. Half reported no consequence resulted from the accident. Data points to the need of self-worth concerning the worker´s health and also of programs aiming at occupational safety enhancemnt.Item Ações de educação em saúde no combate ao tabagismo: relato de experiência(2011-06) Ribeiro, Luana Cássia Miranda; Peixoto, Myrian Karla Ayres Veronez; Weirich, Claci Fátima; Ribeiro, Juliana Pires; Marinho, Thaís AugustoSmoking is a chronic disease caused by addiction to nicotine. It is directly related to high mortality, because it compromises physical and mental health of individuals and communities. This study aimed to report the experience of undergraduate nursing students in developing the campaign against smoking at the discipline supervised training course in Nursing I at the Firminópolis-GO campus. The supervised training is carried out for a month, in the last year of the undergraduate course in the form of multidisciplinary rural internship. In the beginning of the activities an operational planning took place, in which the activities related to smoking were highlighted.
