Item Traffic modeling in PLC networks using a Markov fluid model with autocorrelation function fitting(2011) Rocha, Flávio Geraldo Coelho; Santos, Christiane Borges; Vieira, Flávio Henrique TelesIn this paper, we present an analysis of VoIP (Voice over IP) traffic and data transfer using PLC (PowerLine Communications) network. We propose a model based on MMFM (Markov Modulated Fluid Models) for data and VoIP traffic in PLC networks. Simulations and comparisons were carried out to verify the efficiency of the proposed traffic model over the Poisson and MMPP (Markov Modulated Poisson Process) models.Item Modelagem de tráfego VoIP utilizando misturas gaussianas ajustadas por algoritmo de maximização de esperança e comprimento de descrição mínimo(2013) Oliveira, Cheila Mendes de; Lucas, Rosana de Paula; Vieira, Flávio Henrique TelesThe increase in the number of applications that generate VoIP (Voiceover IP) traffic requires that suitable models for this kind of traffic be used to bet-ter dimension and predict network resources. In this paper,we propose the applica-tion of Gaussian mixture adjusted by an EM algorithm (Expectation-Maximization)with selection of classes using the principle of Minimum Description Length (MDL-Minimum Description Length) in order to describe VoIP traffic. Real VoIP traces werecollected and synthetic time series were generated according to these data. The propo-sed algorithm is compared to the EM algorithm and the MDL (Minimum DescriptionLength) based algorithm in terms of performance in modelingthe considered VoIPtraffic traces.Item Estimação de envelope efetivo de tráfego de redes baseada em modelagem multifractal para controle de admissão de usuários com qualidade de serviço(2013) Vieira, Flávio Henrique Teles; Lucas, Rosana de Paula; Vieira, Renata TelesIn this paper, first we present an effective bandwidth equation for multifractal traffic based on a multiplicative cascade model. Merging the effective bandwidth to the effective envelope concept from the Statistical Network Calculus, we compute end-to-end performance bounds for real multifractal network traffic. Using these bounds, we propose an admission control scheme that guarantees quality service in terms of data loss probability and delay through the obtained effective envelope for the MWM (Multifractal Wavelet Model) multifractal model. Through simulations, we compare the number of flows admitted using effective service curves corresponding to different types of traffic flow schedulers for the fBm (fractional Brownian motion) andMWM traffic models.Item Programa de educação tutorial na Escola de Engenharia Elétrica, Mecânica e de Computação (EMC) da UFG: as dimensões do trabalho e da formação(Getúlio Antero de Deus Júnior, 2014-12) Deus Júnior, Getúlio Antero de; Chaveiro, Eguimar FelícioThis paper investigates how the Programa de Educação Tutorial (PET/CAPES, Tutorial Training Program) relates to both professional training and the job market, based on activities developed by the PET – Engenharias (Conexões de Saberes) group, at the Escola de Engenharia Elétrica, Mecânica e de Computação (EMC), Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG). Two issues are considered: how may PET activities be transformed, to provide the PET participant with a favourable environment and conditions for a successful career, and likewise for concluding undergraduate studies and going on to graduate school. In that context, a reflection upon both the programs underlying philosophy and the relationship between professional and academic life, is presented. The conclusions of that reflection are discussed together with the results of a survey, specifically developed to collect the experiences within the PET program, from ex and current participants.Item A origem do ensino de engenharia em Goiás(Getúlio Antero de Deus Júnior, 2014-12) Castro, Rosângela Nunes Almeida deThis article presents the findings of a social-historical investigation of engineering education in the state of Goiás. The theoretical basis of the Clown Group goes back to the origins of Jerzy Grotowski's poor theater (1933 1999). Concerning the use of music, theater and dance to present and promote the pleasure of art, the Group values the interaction with the public and does not worry about the structural elements commonly characterized by the theater as stage and lighting. In this way, the Clown Group promotes a Humanistic Formation of its members by providing a development in the capacity of communication, contact with the external community and also the satisfaction, by allowing the art to be spread in a simple and e ective way. The objective of this work is to analyze the importance of Humanistic Training in the professional and personal development of Engineers and Engineering students, treating as a special case the Humanistic Training linked to the actions of the Clown Group Engineers without Bor- ders (Knowledge Connections). As a hypothesis, it is expected that the experience of members and ex members of the Clown Group can be proven through their training and presentations over the years. In order to evaluate the personal and professional development of members and ex members of the Clown Group during the training process, a qualitative research was carried out, via an applied questionnaire, in addition to a documentary research by observation, in which data were collected through analysis and observation of photos and documents of the Clown Group. In ad- dition, Arti cial Neural Networks were used to correlate the members and ex members based on the two applied researches. The members and ex members of the Clown Group have experienced a major break in introspection, signi cantly improving their way of communicating with society. The members and ex members presented an improvement in the way they relate to each other in a team, a fundamental aspect of an Engineer's professional life. The Clown Group presents itself as a very important action for Humanistic Training and the professional and personal development of Engineers and Engineering students. The di usion of art in the academic and external community promoted by the Clown Group also allows the deconstruction of the stereotype that the areas of Engineering and the Arts cannot coexist.Item Projeto de uma usina fotovoltaica e sua viabilidade econômica(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-12-07) Hoepers, Gean Rodrigo Warsneski; Oliveira, Iury Amâncio; Santos, Euler Bueno dos; Santos, Euler Bueno dos; Valle, Ana Cláudia Marques do; Marra, Enes GonçalvesThis paper presents relevant concepts in the area of Electrical Engineering, reporting on the use of solar power plants as a complementary energy source to the Brazilian energy matrix. The F-OFDM is a candidate technology to be used in the new generation of wireless mobile communication, the 5G. In 5G, there is the prospect that high-speed services and availability will be offered to users, such as: low-latency in mobile Internet, telemedicine, communication among devices such as machines and vehicles (D2D - Device to Device) and paradigm of the Internet of Things (IoT - Internet of Things). F-OFDM retains the advantages of OFDM and reduces important disadvantages by using a filter design that smoothes truncation at the ends of its subbands, reducing OOBE (Out Of Band Emission). In this work we also explore how the preparation for the transmission of an image through an OFDM tecnology based network takes place and how it is retrieved at its destination. Finally, simulation results of the transmission of an image through the channels of an OFDM and F-OFDM network are presented and the transmission and reception processes are evaluated using the following performance parameters: BER (Bit Error Ratio), PAPR (Peak to-Average Power Ratio), Power Spectral Density (PSD) analysis in passing bandwidth, impact changes in filter design, and a simplified way of verifying extra band emission (OOBE).Item Análise da influência do pré-aquecimento, gás de proteção e tecimento na diluição e dureza de revestimento de inconel 625 ao substrato de aço carbono por processo MIG/MAG(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-12-10) Speziali, Lucas Moura; Ferreira Filho, Demostenes; Ferreira Filho, Demostenes; Figueiredo, Kleber Mendes de; Gonçalves Júnior, José LúcioWelding coating is an increasingly used method for the manufacture of wear and corrosion resistant parts, since it allows the manufacture of parts with lower cost materials, applying more noble materials to the surface to achieve the desired properties. The present work deals with the influence of the variation of three parameters on the coating of a Nickel alloy (Inconel 625) by MIG / MAG welding on a carbon steel substrate, varying the protection gas and the preheating temperature, with the purpose of determining the most suitable parameter to perform the coating process in function of not having high dilution of the weld bead in the substrate, concurring in significant losses in the hardness of the coating material. Welding is also contemplated with the weaving technique, in order to assess whether or not the use of weaving is advantageous for the process. The main results were increased dilution for use of the fabric, increase of the preheating temperature, and larger amounts of active gas in the protection gas. For welding with Ar + 25% He also increased the dilution for higher preheating temperatures. With increasing dilution, for higher temperatures and active gas there was reduction in hardness. The weave had no clear behavior with respect to the hardness of the coating.Item Gestão de energia em unidades hospitalares: estudo de caso do hospital das clinicas da Universidade Federal de Goiás - parte 2(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-12-12) Maciel, Stephanny Lima; Valle, Ana Cláudia Marques do; Hamberger, Paula Andréia do Valle; Valle, Ana Cláudia Marques do; Cavalcante, Hugo Rafael GonçalvesItem Projeto de um microaerogerador de ímãs permanentes(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-12-13) Duarte, Denner Cezar; Martins, François de Souza; Paula, Geyverson Teixeira de; Paula, Geyverson Teixeira de; Dias, Renato Jayme; Kopcak, IgorThis following work deals with the design and construction of a Permanent Magnet AC brushless micro-aerogenerator, based on a preexisting induction motor stator, designed to meet the demands of small rural installations in the region of Goiás. Using the finite element method, it was possible to obtain generator performance predictions based on the main parameters that could be changed such as the number of turns, the type of winding, the diameter of the enameled copper wire used in the coils, dimensions and materials of the rotor, the quantity, composition, geometry and energy product of the magnets and other parameter which will be discussed throughout this document. The comparison between the practical results of the tests performed on the generator and the simulations generated by the software proved to be satisfactory. The generator is capable of producing three-phase sine waves that have high fidelity to the ideal, obtaining a R2 = 0.9989 when comparing a voltage cycle of the generator with a sine function, in addition to a spectrum of harmonics where the most expressive (2nd and 3rd harmonic) represent, respectively, 2% and 1.7% of the fundamental amplitude, demonstrating the quality of the final product. In the load tests a satisfactory voltage regulation was obtained with a low voltage drop (see Table 5). Due to the high number of poles, in the process of rectifying the current it was possible to minimize the ripple using a low capacitance in the circuit, this implies a low investment in capacitor banks to make available the generated energy to the network. The cost of the machine, combined with the reuse of parts, provided a low cost, totaling R $ 204.00 at the end of its construction. The cost of the machine, combined with the reuse of parts, provided a low cost, totaling R $ 204.00 at the end of its construction.Item Estudo para o gerenciamento de projeto e dimensionamento de elevadores(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-12-14) Santos, Guilherme Gomes dos; Silva, Hédipo José Ribeiro e; Valle, Ana Cláudia Marques do; Valle, Ana Cláudia Marques do; Hamberger, Paula Andréa do Valle; Costa, Jônatas SiqueiraThis paper aims at structural and components analysis suitable for deployment of a variety of elevator environments.
